This steak and shake rarely disappoints in food quality. The only reason it loses a star is because it is hard to be seated when you try to eat in. Granted, the staff is really busy but its just annoying to be standing so long. If we could be seated and wait in our seats it would be way better. Why does steak and shake not invest in a hostess that also cleans tables?

I just got back from this location, having eaten here many many times over the past 7 years. Unlike many other restaurants, Steak 'n Shake has actually introduced lower-priced menu options which afford it's patrons the option to choose from a variety of different style burger and fry combos for just $3.99. On this most recent visit, I had a coupon for a Royale Burger and Fries (for $4.49, because bacon and eggs aren't cheap). Usually I get a Double Steakburger with cheese or a Frisco Melt, but on this occasion I felt like changing things up. I've never had an issue with presentation, but this burger was probably one of the best looking fast food burgers I've ever seen. This could be attributed to the longer-than-average wait time, so they might have been able to pay more care and attention to each burger. Whatever the reason, the result was a delicious looking AND tasting burger.

2nd time this week. But this time was Shake part. We came for a desert shake. My son and I just had bad service from a different restaurant. Didn't eat desert so we decided on a shake to go. We talked in. They were busy. Everyone all smiles, even a customer wanted to take a picture of my sons funny saying on this t-shirt while waiting on the shakes. It was so disgusting and the smell was atrocious. Made me re-think the cleanliness of the whole restaurant. Management please step up and get this place cleaned up.

Went here tonight. The employees cannot listen. I ordered a burger with mustard, pickles, cheese, bacon, and the burger ONLY. I reiterated 5x that I only wanted those things on it. There ends up with no mustard and ketchup and onions on it. They didn't give me my chili fries that I ordered, after asking 5x. Not a good first impression with this steak and shake. Back home they always got it right. They didn't seem to care at all here tonight.

They should not offer drive-thru service. The whole point of a drive-thru is quick, efficient service. This location is so slow I waited for 15 minutes in the drive-thru. When the person in front of me finally left I drove off without even getting my food. I guarantee I would have had to wait another 5 minutes after I paid for them to bring my salad out to me. They never have the food ready at the window. They must have one person making the food!

This was not the best visit I've had to a Steak n' Shake. Although the service was good the food was terrible. Flying in from Phoenix with my son, arriving at 2am and looking forward to an awesome burger and fries (a cheat meal for me) this was a huge disappointment. On a trip to the bathroom I over heard a seemingly "off the clock" employee make a comment regarding the cook getting in trouble for reheating the fries. I should have bolted then...upon the foods arrival it was no surprise the fries were definitely stale and reheated, hard and gross actually. The burger was nothing special...ok at best. The floors in the actual restaurant were extremely dirty. The fact that we stayed was a testament to our normal expectation of a steak and shake. If you are going to stay open 24hrs a day you are gonna have up your game tremendously for this location. Otherwise you are now one of a million restaurants that stay open for those hours to serve drunk people that don't care about the food they are eating let alone the cleanliness of the atmosphere. Again, the server Angel was very good and is the only reason I am giving this location two stars.

Assume this will apply to all Steak and Shake restaurants. I was returning from a meeting in Winter Park yesterday and stopped at a Steak and Shake (haven't been to one in years). Went inside to order a takeout and noticed the Steakburger Shooters on the menu (yes mini-steakburgers) Since Krystal burgers have been steadily disappearing in Florida this is a great alternative with less grease and real meat :) I got the Shooters and Fries (Ketchup/Mustard version with Cheese) with a Shake. Shooters and Shake were excellent. Should have passed on the fries they weren't the best but typical for a Steak and Shake. They still rate a 5 star just for the Shooters!

Took me awhile to figure out which one we went to. The locations offered on the site are way off, they put this one near goldenrod it's way off. Anyway the one we went to is on 436 just south of Aloma. This is the one I am pretty sure. We got in and seated in a few minutes, they were busy. i have to say right away I looked around and saw the servers busting ass. Here is the great part, for the most part the servers were if my estimate is right, in their 60's. iI tell you they were busting ass. Our waitress was Cassandra she was in her 60's with a limp she was incredible. Got our orders, refilled the drinks, asked if we were ok. Taking care of all her tables, bussing tables, working the register. Had our check up fast and, got us in and out under 30 minutes. All of the waiters and waitresses were incredible, I know because I always watch for my reviews.. Shella also older and fast, I missed some of the other waiters names they were all good. No sitting around talking with themselves all business. Even the younger guy working as a waiter was good. i have never seen people turn tables as fast as these guys were. Taking orders, delivering food, bussing tables at lightning speed. I think it didn't matter who's table it was it was all hands in. The manager is doing an outstanding job training and hiring these people.As I said for the most part at least four grandparent age. Excellent employ older folks. Cassandra was great

Standard Steak N Shake overall. You've got your cheap diner food, choice of milkshakes, passable service, and questionable cleanliness. I went to get to-go milkshakes with a couple friends tonight. The girl didn't acknowledge us for a while at the cash register, not a big deal but still noticeable. The milkshakes were all good but were smaller than expected, unfortunately. The floor was super sticky and the bathroom was quite gross. It wasn't shocking, but it didn't really make me want to eat food cooked here if they can't take care of anything inside the building.

Every time I come to this location the service is great, wait time isn't long for the food, and the food is usually up to my standards if not better. Their prices are reasonable and you can find whatever it may be that you're looking for whether it's a salad or a steak burger. This isn't really the place to go if you're counting your calories but it's a great place to catch a good burger or shake late night or during the day. One of my personal favorite servers at this locale is Cassie as she very customer friendly and has always provided great service the times that I've visited! Alvin is a great member of management that works here, as well and he's very customer friendly and usually comes out to greet the customers and ensure that the food and service is great!

It really is hit or miss with the food at Steak n shake. Unfortunately, instead of indulging in my usual milk shake happy hour, I ordered a steak burger and fries. Both felt like they were room temp and my bread was a little soggied. My friend became sick to the stomach about 2 hours after eating his burger. Sorry, SNS, "L" on both the burgers and the fries this time.

They close the lobby at this location at 2am. Caught me and a friend by surprise because we know of other locations with 24 hour lobbies. Other than the lobby mix up the one day everything is just okay. You get what you pay for and expect. I never really go during busy hours or anything so I have never really had to wait too long.

SnS has an old school diner style decor, very 60's feel. The food was decent for an incredibly low price, you can't beat 3.99 for sliders & fries. The waitresses were all very pleasant :) This is definitely a great place to come for lunch or a quick bite!

I have always been a huge fan of their shakes; however, until they recently began their regular $4 meals, we rarely ate there because the prices were just too expensive for that particular class of restaurant. Now with the $4 meals and the regular coupons I receive in the mail for buy one get one free milkshakes, we visit much more frequently. This restaurant is clean and the servers are friendly. The managers are also friendly and concerned; each time we have visited, a manager has stopped by our table to make sure everything is tasty and just the way we ordered it. The only complaint I have about this particular restaurant is the temperature. Even in the dead heat of the summer in Central Florida, walking into this restaurant feels like I walking into a blizzard. It's so cold my teeth chatter and I shiver. With that being said, I'm not one to be cold very often; my AC at home stays on a nice cold 64 degrees during the summer and I'm perfectly comfortable. I hate to even think of what their thermostat is set on. Great place for a meal, but bring along a jacket. Seriously, even it's over 100 degrees outside. :))

When I went back and told her that I didn't have any cookies in it and that there were only cookie crumbs sprinkled on top, she told me I would have to pay .49 for it... whaaa? I' had only been in there 10min, ordered my food and BAM!, saw a roach crawling next to me. The waitress came and brought us water, and our glasses were filthy.. I really have issues when it comes to eating at a restaurant. If i feel the sanitation is not up to par, all I can worry about is whether or not the food I'm eating is sanitary. My friend ordered a chicken jalapeno burger, and they gave her the wrong sandwich. I took few bites of my burger because i was too paranoid thinking I would find something in my burger that would gross me out. Don't do it to yourself, just go to the Denny's across the Street or Kiko's Japanese Cuisine a few blocks up.
